Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute (NCOFI)
The Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute is a state-of-the-art working laboratory designed by clinicians for clinicians. NCOFI offers several courses available including an introduction to dental microscopy, mastering the arts of oral plastic surgery, state of the art dental hygiene and microscope centered comprehensive examination & modern dental photography and imaging.
Their facility is fully equipped for technique sensitive training, a setting for intensive learning in a stress free environment has been achieved. Each work station is equipped with an especially designed clinical microscope, manikin heads for simulated patient care, and personal video monitors to observe live demonstrations.
Additionally, there are ergonomically designed operator chairs, three modular demonstration stations in the teaching lab, and three teaching operatories for live patient demonstrations as seen through the clinical microscope. Students have multidisciplinary, hands-on mentoring experiences with some of the top international teacher/clinicians in the world. Gordon J. Christensen Practical Clinical Courses
Practical Clinical Courses (PCC) is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Dr. Gordon Christensen’s background and the proven reliability of his dentistry presentations have made him one of the most admired speakers in dentistry for several decades.
He has helped initiate two new dental schools, delivered over 50,000 hours of continuing education, co-founded the most well-known private dental research institute in the world CLINICIANS REPORT (formerly Clinical Research Associates), produced hundreds of multimedia dental presentations, and has written hundreds of articles and several books.

Dr. Glenn A van As began using the dental operating microscope in 1997 for his dentistry. His state of the art dental office has 9 operatories (2 new A Series and 7 Global G6 units). He has travelled throughout North America and Internationally, lecturing and publishing about the benefits and challenges of incorporating microscopes into daily dental practice.

Dr. Mark Olesen practices endodontics in North Vancouver. Since the year 2000 he has given small group ‘hands-on’ courses at his office. Today, over 2100 dentists have attended.

Surgical Microscopy with Dr. Remington
Dr. Wayne Remington is a general dentist and long-time Global microscope user. Dr. Remington has a love of teaching with a Visiting Assistant Professorship at UVA, as well as developing the second surgical microscope training center in the U.S. with the Virginia Microscope Training Center.
He has taught courses in surgical microscope use nationally and internationally, including courses in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Lithuania. He is currently head of teaching faculty with the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry and conducts training classes for AMED internationally.

AMED Dental Microscope Training And Immersion
The Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry (AMED) is an International Association of General and Restorative Dentists, Pediatric Dentists, Endodontists, Periodontists, Prosthodontists, Oral Surgeons and Associated Disciplines.
Every year, they offer a 2-day intensive, hands-on courses designed for any owner of a dental microscope, from new to experienced to even prospective buyers of the dental microscope. Each learner has their own operatory and the course can be adjusted to their level of experience. The goal of the course is teaching the correct way of using this tool.
