Many believe becoming a dentist means seeking to be a lifelong learner. Not only is the nature of dentistry ever-evolving, but, of course, every state dental board has continuing education requirements to maintain your license each renewal period.

Continuing education (CE) is a great way to learn new skills, keep up with technology, and connect with other dentists. CE credits are available for dentists to earn through a wide variety of options, from hands-on clinical courses and technology workshops, to online and in-person seminars/webinars, to full-on dental conferences/meetings and dental continuing education vacations.

Regional Dental Shows

Below is a shortlist of regional dental shows happening in 2024, based on their attendance/size, quality of speakers/seminars/courses, and overall organization. Regional dental conferences are a great way to network with local practitioners and earn CE credits, without traveling far from home!

Dental/Specialty Association Meetings

While dental organizations like the AAE most align with what we do here at Global, there are several other dental and specialty associations hosting conferences next year. The AAE was an early proponent of training in microscopes for endodontic residents, and for over 25 years here at Global Surgical, we’ve also strongly promoted its use in dentistry as a whole.

We do not typically exhibit at these events, but they still offer dentists a great opportunity to learn, interact with their peers, and see some exciting new technologies on the horizon:

Top International Dentistry Events

AEEDC Conference

AEEDC Dubai is known as the ‘The Largest Annual Scientific Dental Conference and Exhibition in the World.’ Founded 26 years ago, the AEEDC Dubai has been recognized as a beacon of knowledge and a point of reference for dentistry experts, academicians and industry professionals from across the region and all corners of the globe.

This year’s event will be held February 6-8, 2024 in Dubai. Over 60,000 dental professionals from 155 countries are expected to attend! The schedule will cover the latest advances and research in various specialities of dentistry, including eminent speakers (all covered in English). Pacific Dental Conference

The Pacific Dental Conference is organized by dental professionals for dental professionals. Their first annual conference was held over 25 years ago, beginning their tradition of offering exceptional continuing education programs, the latest in cutting edge techniques, and emerging technology and services.

This year’s event will be held March 7-9, 2024 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. There will be 100+ in-person open sessions and hands-on courses as well as an exhibit hall showcasing more than 225 exhibiting companies. Thousands of dental professionals from BC, other Canadian provinces and neighboring US states will hear from top notch presenters who are prominent leaders in the dental industry. Ontario Dental Association ASM24

The Annual Spring Meeting (ASM) is the signature event of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA). Now in its 157th year, it is one of the longest running and most respected dental conventions in North America. Over the years the ASM has become a popular meeting place for all dental professionals.

This event is a great opportunity for dentists, regardless of specialty, to connect with speakers, exhibitors, colleagues and friends to learn, network and share ideas, best practices and valuable insights that will help you and your dental team be successful in your profession and in your personal life.

IFEA WEC (World Endodontic Conference)

The 14th World Endodontic Congress (WEC) will take place at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow, UK from the 11th – 14th September 2024. Hosted by the International Federation of Endodontic Association hosts this biennial conference to attract endodontists, other dental specialists, general dental practitioners and students from Europe and around the World.

Over 3000 delegates are expected to attend the conference. This event schedule is full of renown speakers, hands-on courses, and a robust social program, all within the beautiful SEC and hosted by the great city of Glasgow. ADF Congrès Dentaire International

The ADF Congress is one of the world’s leading events in the field of dentistry, and certainly an important European continuing education event. This event aims to combine, at the same time and in the same place, a scientific program offering nearly a hundred sessions, and an exhibition of international scope.

In 2022, this event space held 25,000 participants, hosted with 400 speakers and 350 international exhibitors. Typically a five-day event, dental professionals can expect a full schedule of scientific program sessions across a variety of areas of expertise. Speakers will come from various backgrounds, including private practice and teaching hospitals, covering both fundamentals as well as specialized topics.

This event is held every year around November at the stunning Palais des Congrès de Paris. The 2023 event has not announced dates but continue following this link for more information: www.adfcongres.com 

AAE24

This year’s annual meeting of the American Association of Endodontists will be nearly a month earlier than in 2023, occurring April 17-20 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in sunny CA. The AAE’s annual meeting is a leading endodontic education summit, vendor exhibition and networking opportunity. With a packed educational schedule planned for AAE24, in-person attendees can earn up to 28.5 CE hours.

APICES

APICES is an annual event made for AAE Resident members and new practitioners, curated by your fellow resident and new practitioner colleagues.  Created by endodontic residents and new practitioners for endodontic residents, APICES is offered to all incoming, current and graduating endodontic resident members.

The Resident and New Practitioner Committee has worked hard to target the needs of the future of endodontists within the APICES programming. Leaders from the entire family of AAE organizations, including the AAE, Foundation for Endodontics, American Board of Endodontics and College of Diplomates, will be represented at APICES.

Gordon J. Christensen Practical Clinical Courses

Dr. Gordon Christensen’s background and the proven reliability of his dentistry presentations have made him one of the most admired speakers in dentistry for several decades. He has helped initiate two new dental schools, delivered over 50,000 hours of continuing education, co-founded the most well-known private dental research institute in the world, CLINICIANS REPORT (formerly Clinical Research Associates), produced hundreds of multimedia dental presentations, and has written hundreds of articles and several books.
